Yes, the Christian Church has an “s-word” all of its own and it is “submission.” Everyone has some sort of reaction when they encounter that word. It may be positive and it may be challenging, especially with the changing attitudes of our culture. A traditional approach to understanding how men and women relate isn’t always well-received, even within the Christian community. The concept of egalitarianism is actually on the rise within the Church. What does that all mean for both Christian men and women of today?
In this episode, Jory and Jennifer explore and discuss what Jesus said and demonstrated about the role of women in life and ministry during his time on Earth 2,000 years ago and how that translates to living in modern America. What does “submission,” as it is used in Scripture, really mean? How should it look today, for both men and women, in both the home and elsewhere? How can we reconcile tradition, Biblical directives, and our culture?
