We may start out with a plan for our lives, a dream of how things will turn out. That dream empowers us. But then life happens. Small things throw us off—a condescending look, a snide word, an interruption to our schedules—and suddenly we’ve lost our sense of empowerment. Big life events overwhelm us—marriage, children, abuse, loss, addictions—and we’re robbed of even more power. Yet God can bring us to our place of greatest power through these “set-backs.” Jory and Kim Crabill explore a four-point Power Plan that helps us draw upon God’s power, which never fails, to stay true to His perfect purpose for our lives.
About Kim Crabill
Kim Crabill is founder and president of Roses and Rainbows Ministries, Inc., and Community COFFEEs (Conversations of Friends of Faith to Encourage and Equip). She has traveled nationally for more than 20 years, speaking at retreats, at conferences, and to Bible study groups, and has been interviewed on national TV and radio. Kim’s message and passion come from her personal experience of longing to be used by God yet feeling unusable because of past abuse, anorexia, diet pill addiction, and depression. Her mother’s deathbed challenge set Kim on the path of daring to be and do what God had purposed for her, a journey she wrote about in her book Burdens to Blessings. She is also author of Burdens to Blessings: Young Adult Edition, Infinitely More: Your 40-Day Ephesians 3:20 Adventure, A Cup of Christmas, A Cup of Hope, and A Cup of Freedom.
Kim is married to Lee Crabill, and together they have two adult sons. For more information about Kim Crabill and her ministries, visit www.rosesandrainbows.org.
Kim’s Success Tips
The Four-Point Power Plan
- PRAY. Prayer helps us still our unruly emotions and listen to God’s peace-giving perspective. Let Jeremiah 33:3 motivate you to seek God in prayer when your personal power runs low.
- LAY out God’s truth. When we feel robbed of power, our emotions can fill our hearts and minds with lies. As we pray, our eyes are opened to God’s truth. We need to look at our truth alongside God’s truth. Usually, we discover that our truth leaves us stuck and defeated, while God’s truth is always freeing and empowering.
- ANALYZE the options. Life’s circumstances always leave us with choices. Count the cost of the choices in front of you. What will it cost to respond in a way that responds to what God says is true instead of what your emotions say is true?
- Do what is NECESSARY. Take that first step God has revealed to you. Then take another step, and another. This is the key to living out God’s purpose for you—taking one step at a time, based on the truth He shows you.
Kim’s Quote of the Day
“If we don’t have a plan then 9 times out of 10, we’re going to go emotional. Emotions are great as long as they have a cap on them. A Power Plan helps us cap those emotions before they rob us of even more power.” ~Kim Crabill

Jory’s Verse of the Day
“A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? To the man who pleases Him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and happiness…” ~Ecclesiastes 2:24-26
